Healthcare Expert Cautions

A medical professional of an online medical service linked the increase in interest to recent price rises for approved slimming medications such as Mounjaro. “With costs rising, individuals are using social media. But counterfeit treatments are highly risky. You can’t be certain what’s contained or whether the environment they were made in was sterile,” she said.
Her staff has previously seen patients injured by self-injection from unconfirmed suppliers. “We recognize the disappointment, but purchasing from Telegram or communication platforms is gambling with your health,” stated Wyllie. “These substances could be impure or incorrectly dosed.”
Manufacturer Position
A spokesperson from the pharmaceutical company said retatrutide was in phase 3 research studies and had not been reviewed or authorized by any regulatory agency globally. “Therefore at this point no one can market [it] for personal consumption,” they explained, noting that any item “misleadingly claiming itself as a Lilly experimental product not yet authorized … may subject patients to potentially significant health risks”.
