Two more people are now in custody in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to police.
A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.
The arrests follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
